    Club Objectives

To promote and encourage all aspects of athletics in Horsham and the surrounding area. Although the Club only caters for 10 years old and upwards some of the Club Coaches are active in local Primary Schools and Junior Clubs promoting athletics and raising the profile of the Club.

The Club aims to provide appropriate coaching and competition in all Track and Field events as well as Cross Country and Road Running.

    History

Athletics has a strong local tradition with Slinfold's Alf Shrubb holding many World Distance Records in the early 1900's. some lasting for over 30 years. The Blue Star emblem has been known in Harrier circles for many years, originally cross country and road, but in more recent years track and field has come to the fore. The change in emphasis is due to the development of the excellent facilities at Broadbridge Heath.

    Associations

The Club has close links with the Local Authority, The Sussex Sports Partnership, Horsham Marlets Athletic Club (for 8-11 year old) as well as many local schools.
